Priya R. George
Priya is a Brooklyn based producer who has worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations in New York City including WNYC where she was a producer for the Brian Lehrer Show — winner of the George Foster Peabody Award for Media Excellence — the nation's largest public radio station, the highest accolade in broadcast journalism.
Professionally she has worked in the realm of urban policy and public affairs, gender equity, green issues and public health. Priya also works as a consultant on Social Media and Public Relations strategies.
Currently she is collaborating with the photographer Katrina Hajagos on a work of portraiture involving women politicians across the United States and the political spectrum called Power in Place.
As a child Priya lived in Algeria, Tunisia, Portugal, Mexico and Zimbabwe (literally A-Z). That experience influences a lot of her work. She has a BA from Bard College where she studied under Chinua Achebe and worked under the college President Leon Botstein.
