Programmers Keyboard

Its a Divine Paradox.

We are using the configurations on a keyboard invented in the last century.

Its Bizarre on multiple levels:

Its bizarre because the fine folks who made that configuration placed the least used keys in the most awkward positions, unnatural. So the [ ] { }; ' were left not for the hearty index finger, punching front and center, but left in the back seat for the little pinky to find or actually, not find, miss, 30% of the time. Dude Why the F. are we still using configurations made for typewriters ?

What, there is no Steve Jobs to milk feed an off the shelf programers keyboard?

For a person who types at 80wpm, these awkwardly positioned step child keys, bottom shelf ; : '., [ ] way in the corner for the little pinky to get to - makes a robust typer into a person trying to shift gears with the shifter in the back seat of the car.

The grand paradox of it all is NOT that the current configuration of keyboards was invented in the last century, but that programmers are still using their grandmothers configuration of keys for their programming.

"Son, Why the Hell do you kids dont just make something that is a little more confortable for you programmers?" "What do you want to do, have Thomas Edison come back from the grave so you can put your ass into gear? Is that what you kids want these days?"

'Well Grandma, for those who really want, they can take the keys out and program their computer to make those keys where they want it.'

"Oh Horse Shit. Make it off the shelf. None of these make your own computer nonsense. You kids need to get your asses in gear. Why the hell are you using our configuration for our needs made a century ago? Those funky symbols need to be in a more robust EZ to get to, hard to miss position. What you waiting for, Steve Jobs to come back form the grave and tit feed you with milk so you can get your asses into gear?"

'Well I dont Grandma, I have no idea why the most cutting edge inventive field out there is so slow on the uptake about basics like need for Off the Shelf Programmers Keyboard. Maybe i'll put the question out there.'

"Well what the hell is that gonna do? These kids, the programmers keep using our typewriter configurations made in the last century, using key positions for the most often used strokes to be horrendously awkward, hindering speed, performance and accuracy. Can you kids just get your asses into ge
