Queen Qiana was born Qiana Danae McKenzie in Illinois. The name “QUEEN” was bestowed upon her by her late grandfather John McKenzie who she affectionately refers to as PaPa. Queen believes music is her first love and is the driving force in her pursuit of success.
Queens singing career began as a child by winning first place in her third grade talent competition at Taft Elementary School, where she would also learn the flute, how to read sheet music, writing and composing her own lyrics. Queen Qiana inherited style and singing was influenced by her gospel roots at the family’s church where she was a member at the age of 8 in the gospel troupe “New Beginnings In Christ” .
