About Me

In many ways, I am a typical Canadian mom and wife. I love my husband and kids, age 5 and 9, more than I can put into words. We live in a small Northern Ontario mining town surrounded by family, friends, and a very supportive community.

We did not realize how supportive our home town community is until March 2014, when our lives changed forever and I was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer. While my family and I continue to live with this very serious disease, we’ve been very lucky. As I write this, my cancer has been stable (without any tumours) for a little over a year, and I continue to lead a very active life.

Pre-cancer, I worked full-time, but with my husband’s support, I now spend all of my time looking after our family and pursuing the things that help to keep me happy and healthy including plant-based eating, exercise, mindfulness, making quilts, and now…….blogging.
