Elizabeth Ann Marchetti is from Long Island, New York and has been actively and passionately working with the commercial fishing community for over twenty years, immediately after graduating the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology both as a field scientist and fisherman. She began working for the Ocean Technology Foundation as a field scientist for the Lobster Restoration project in response to the North Cape Oil spill in 1996. She stayed with the program through its entirety of five years before landing her five year position as a Point Judith NOAA Port Agent. Elizabeth assisted and supported industry members with their inquiries as well as collected biological samples such as otoliths and vertebrae daily for the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. From there she began working as a field scientist within NOAA’s Cooperative Research Branch, working with fishermen daily for technical support with electronic vessel trip reporting as well as conducting high level at sea biosampling.

In 2015, Ms. Marchetti was selected for the Block Island Wind Farm Fisheries Liaison, working with the fishing industry, Deep Water Wind, National Grid and the R.I. Coastal Resources Management Council. She has also served as the Offshore Fisheries Liaison Officer upon the R/V Ocean Researcher for the 2018 Empire Wind Survey.

Elizabeth is currently working as the Fisheries Liaison Officer for Equinor Wind US.

When not engaged in fisheries, Elizabeth enjoys running, paddle-boarding, cooking and hiking with her beloved brindle plott hound rescue.

Elizabeth has ran the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon (MCM), 2014 Cape Cod Marathon, 2015 New York City Marathon, 2016 MCM and the 2018 Chicago Marathon. She completed her first 50K at Pisgah Mountain in New Hampshire, September 2017 and her second at Wachusett Mountain in June 2018.

Elizabeth is currently training for the unknown in 2022.
