Rajiv Toprani
Clarksville, Tennessee
Rajiv Toprani has over 15 years of experience producing and selling nonwoven and woven fabrics to a variety of industrial platforms. After graduating from the University of Bombay (now known as the University of Mumbai), Rajiv Toprani founded KT America Corp. He designed and then employed a business model that would bring quality synthetic fabrics produced overseas to market here in the United States, meeting the demands of automakers, landscape fabric manufacturers, mattress producers, and more. Rajiv Toprani, who holds a graduate degree in economics and commerce, was able to expand the revenue stream of KT America from $400,000 in 1996 to $20 million in 2008.
Additionally, Toprani works in the development of new products across the polymer spectrum of polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyethylene terephthalate. Toprani's KT America Corp. was able to consistently innovate and develop new designs, and then to have them transferred through a production chain that involved efficiently managed warehouse space and transportation costs. Looking for new opportunities to maximize savings, Toprani monitored all aspects of manufacturing and transportation.
Currently, Rajiv Toprani oversees the Production and Engineering at a fabric company called Avanti Corp., which similarly manufactures an assortment of nonwoven fabrics for use by other industries. With Avanti, Toprani established the production of some of his products here in the United States while reserving the manufacture of polypropylene woven materials for facilities in India. The company can produce fabrics to custom specifications, including color, treatments, additives, and even packaging. One of the company's products is a high-tenacity filament used in clothing applications as well as industrial settings. Avanti's first year in operation produced $10 million in revenue.
