Founded in 1964, Raloid Corporation provides manufacturing and support services for the aerospace and defense industries, from custom components to ground and mechanical support assemblies. Among its capabilities, Raloid Corporation furnishes machining, including grinding, turning, and milling, and fabrication, including plating, welding, forming, and punching. Its support services range from engineering and reverse engineering to nondestructive testing and computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM).
Committed to providing superior repeatability, Raloid Corporation recently made multiple investments in its computer numerical control (CNC) mill department. It added two additional horizontal machining centers, improving its “lights out” machining capability by 35 percent. To free up mechanical and human resources, it brought on a CNC vertical mill and CNC lathe cell that uses robotic technology to load and unload parts within the cell.
Raloid Corporation also added four standalone vertical machining centers to modernize its CNC mill capability and increase capacity. This includes machines capable of both full fourth-axis machining and probing. Additionally, it installed six machines that offer enhanced personnel cross-training and other production capabilities through redundant user interface controls. Based on the above investments, the company expects to see production efficiency boosts of 30 percent in all programs using the new equipment.
