Graduate and Faculty Research and Instruction

We opened the $50 million Jerry Falwell library in January 2014. I provide individual research consultations, primarily for graduate students and faculty. I teach classroom information and library instruction as requested for graduate departments and liaison areas. I create tutorials and webinars for bibliographic instruction. And I serve as the liaison librarian to the Graduate Counseling program and the Liberty University Rawlings School of Divinity.

My desire is to foster information fluency among students and promote increased utilization of Liberty library resources among the faculty. We have a liaison system established to provide a link from the library to each academic discipline. I work with these liaisons as well as developing new means to increase information literacy across the university’s curriculum. Information literacy has been added as one of our university core competencies.

It is our goal that each Liberty student becomes a lifelong learner, skilled in finding, evaluating and using both conventional and electronic information resources.

My wife (the former Wendy Holm) and I were married on June 30, 1978. We have four children and eleven grandchildren. I am a believer in Jesus Christ, and an active member of Heritage Baptist Church where I am the teacher for the Learning the Word Adult Discipleship Community.

My alma mater, Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, where I studied and then taught for 24 years, closed its doors in December 2008. Each Friday on my Facebook page, I publish Flashback Friday post where I share a photo and nostalgic memory.
