The most important thing that more than 25 years in public education has taught me is that every child has unique interests, skills, goals, and passions. If schools are to remain relevant and viable institutions, we cannot continue to take standardized, sterilized approaches to teaching and learning. Technology tools can empower our kids to do things our generations before never imagined, but not when constrained by the limits of an outdated vision of education. It's time to free our kids to make decisions, to ask questions, to imagine, and to make.

My job is to help teachers use today's technologies to empower and engage students. On the side, I'm a husband, father, public speaker, trainer, consultant, on the board of directors for the Texas Computer Education Association, and occasional tournament bass angler,
