Raquel Baquero

The co-owner of Transwest Enterprises, Raquel Baquero formerly served this Dominican Republic telecommunication services company as its general manager. Before joining the Transwest team in 2008, she served four years as owner and chief executive officer of Cabo Verde and seven years as owner and manager of the Aqua Sushi Restaurant and Bar. Raquel Baquero’s work with Cabo Verde involved representing the hair care companies Paul Mitchell and Rusk in the Dominican Republic and distributing their products throughout the country. While she was managing Aqua Sushi, the establishment ranked among the top five restaurants in the Dominican Republic.

A longtime resident of the country's capital city of Santo Domingo, Raquel Baquero has a history of involvement with local educational endeavors. Her hobbies include playing tennis, scuba diving, and horseback riding. Ms. Baquero is also a dedicated long distance runner who has completed three marathons, running the New York City Marathon twice and the Miami Marathon once.
