Rekhta

Rekhta Foundation is a non-profit venture that curates the largest online repository of Urdu poetry in the world- rekhta.org that has brought authentic Urdu poetry to its lovers. The website, supported by a comprehensive dictionary, offers meaning of words at a click and garners a readership from over 4.4 million in 225 countries across the globe.

The objective of Rekhta is to promote Urdu literature, especially Urdu Poetry, to a global audience having roots in our sub-continent, particularly those not conversant with the Urdu script. To take Urdu to a wider audience that could introduce people with various forms of Urdu, Rekhta Foundation organizes Jashn-e-Rekhta annually in Delhi. It has recently launched Rang-e-Rekhta, a multi-city event to acknowledge Urdu's phenomenal outreach.

Rekhta Foundation also organizes various events from time to time. It has organized events like Shaam-e-Sher, Mazahiya Mushaira, and Baitbaaz in its in-house studio as well as a Mushaira at IIT Delhi in the recent past to build an appreciation for Urdu amongst the youth and the uninitiated.
