Renee' Garrett
I have a B.S. in the field of Human Services, and have worked as a Teacher for at-risk populations in the prison, and I.S. schools in New York. I currently live in GA, and as an Educational Coordinator developed, implemented, and taught homeless children (grades 5-10) that were living in a shelter with their mothers. I have also advocated for homeless children, and wrote a play with the children that addressed their situations and plight about their life of homelessness. I have developed empowerment workshops in my church for the youth, and have volunteered (and an alumni for AmeriCorps/VISTA) as a G.E.D. Teacher at Metro State Prison for the women. I am currently completing my M.A. in Community Counseling, and will be doing my internship at New Hope Counseling Center doing group & individual counseling for Domestic Violence abusers, DUI, and Drug Offenders.
