Richard Seff

With two decades of experience as a lawyer, Richard Seff leads the Calabasas, California-based Estate Planning Law Center. Richard Seff provides clients with security and peace of mind through comprehensive plans designed to protect assets and simplify potential issues for heirs and loved ones. A "Lawyer for Life," he performs services on a transparent flat-fee basis that never leads to outsized hourly rate bills.

Prior to embarking on his career as attorney, Mr. Seff completed a Master's degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He practiced family therapy, with a focus on the treatment of adolescents. Earning a second graduate degree at George Washington University in health care administration, he served for several years as a hospital executive. Mr. Seff notably spearheaded the committee establishment of an inpatient Alzheimer's disease diagnostic unit.

Richard Seff completed his J.D. at Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles in 1990. He gravitated towards practice as a lawyer because of his passion for assisting and empowering families. As part of his client commitment, Mr. Seff undertakes no-cost annual estate plan reviews. He identifies life changes that may need to be navigated and that may benefit from the guidance of a trusted life advisor.

One area in which Richard Seff offers dedicated attorney services involves setting up Personal Asset Trusts. Taking the place of poorly drafted and outdated living trusts, these lawyer-crafted plans are designed to avoid unnecessary expenses and tax pitfalls down the road. In particular, Richard Seff customizes Personal Asset Trusts for clients in ways that protect IRAs and flexibly accommodate the changing requirements of loved ones over the years.
