Richard Wueste
For over 25 years, Richard Wueste served the needs of students and the surrounding community as an executive at higher learning institutions across the United States. Entering the sector after earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago, Mr. Wueste accepted an appointment with the University of Wisconsin as an Associate Director of the Purchasing and General Services Department. Managing various aspects of the university, Mr. Wueste oversaw the Purchasing and Risk and Insurance Management units.
Building on nine years of success at his initial position, Richard Wueste next took the role of Assistant Vice President of Institutional Services at the State University of New York's Stony Brook campus. In this capacity, Mr. Wueste directly supervised 300 staff and held managerial control over a $13 million annual budget. During the 11 years he spent in this role, Mr. Wueste expanded the services available to both students and faculty while concurrently increasing the university's revenue. Working alongside his colleagues and using a collaborative approach, Mr. Wueste reduced wasteful spending and reduced administrative overlap.
Richard Wueste moved west to accept a position with greater responsibilities and challenges at Heritage University in Washington. At the small liberal arts college, he served as Chief Operations Officer, Vice President, and member of the business faculty. After six years in this position, Mr. Wueste assumed the role of President for Adams State College. In addition to managing the overall operations of the school, Mr. Wueste acted as the public face of the school, handling media, public relations, and fundraising duties.
