Bruce Braes

I am a Risk Management & Organisational Resilience expert, drawing on over thirty years of diverse experience in risk, crisis, emergency, security and executive business management. I am based in Perth, Western Australia, I have completed client assignments across numerous countries in Africa, Europe, Middle East, South and South East Asia.
I consult across numerous sectors at the corporate and senior leadership levels of companies and corporations. I support executives to develop risk intelligent organisations, by establishing a common definition of risk, that addresses both value preservation and value creation. I oversee system implementation to enable its consistent use throughout the organisation and empower my clients to treat risks as opportunities as well as threats. I achieve this through improving corporate plans, facilitating interactive management workshops that design risk frameworks supported by appropriate standards.
Risk Management is no longer a discretionary management capability, it is mandatory and is seen as an essential component of Corporate Governance. Key roles, responsibilities and authorities relating to risk management need to be clearly defined within the organisation to support business units and functions in the performance of their risk responsibilities.
All companies incubate risks, I assist companies to design, implement and maintain effective risk management programmes that deliver objective assurance whilst monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of the programme to governing bodies and executive management.
