-Rob has been a visual artist since early childhood. He then took a variety of shop courses and two semesters of drafting in junior high school. This explains his ability to plan things on paper and then make the item or have it made. He reads and writes blueprints and schematics.
In the late 80's, after spearheading a turnaround for RCA, Rob accepted a position with a print manufacturer, and after 2.5 years in printing began freelancing under the dba Graphic Traffic. His initial clients were underserved minority start-ups. Later, Rob was offered a once-in-a-lifetime position in Mergers/Acquisitions & Divestitures, which he accepted.
Although Rob became a "rock star" in M&A, as an artist, he struggled for balance. Right brain vs. left brain. He is after all left handed. Then came an industrial design vision he could produce in his spare time - resulting in the advanced computer hardware known as the "Doublescreen." The 1995 patent appplication radically changed the computer industry, by patenting 20 years ahead. The price "under $1,000" was unheard of at the time (see Seattle Times August 27, 1995 - Section C).
In 1996 Rob attended Lake Washington Technical College for coursework in design, html, and technical writing. He also worked part-time for an ISP, later obtained a Mac System Admin Certification, and thereafter trained in Digital Imaging/Commercial Photographic.
