Robert Mustarde

Rob has worked as a Senior Executive in 5 highly successful Silicon Valley based start-ups over the last 25 years. Typically joining pre-revenue he has built global sales teams and large scale channel networks selling cloud, software and hardware based networking and security solutions into the Enterprise and mid-market as well as to and through Tier-1 Service Providers.

An engineer by education, Rob is a fast study on new technologies and is quick to see and exploit new opportunities. The combined exit values of the 5 companies he has worked with is greater than $14B. These companies include Alteon WebSystems (IPO and then acquired by Nortel for $7.8B), Peribit Networks (acquired by Juniper for $337M), Riverbed (IPO then acquired by Thoma Brava for >$3B), Ruckus Wireless (>$1B IPO and then acquired multiple times, finally by CommScope).

Most recently Rob was at Sequoia funded Versa Networks, a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader for SD-WAN and Cloud Security solutions where he built out the global sales infrastructure. Versa added over 1,000 customers during his tenure including a who's who list of Fortune 1000 accounts.

Rob has extensive experience defining and executing successful go-to-market sales strategies for early stage companies. He has also led the marketing of a publicly traded company as well as defining and operating as the GM for an entirely new product division at Ruckus.

Rob has been actively involved in the capital raising process at several of the start-ups he has been involved with, which resulted in over $100M of VC being raised. He has also made multiple personal investments in early stage companies - the most successful to date being Playdom (acquired by Disney for $763M).
