Rod Schwartz
I backed into a career in radio advertising in January 1973 by answering a newspaper classified. Have worked for three radio companies, trained dozens of radio advertising sales people, served hundreds of advertising clients, written and produced thousands of commercials, and made my clients millions of dollars in the process. Founded Grace Broadcast Sales in 1991, providing syndicated radio features and creative services to radio stations and advertisers across the U.S. and Canada. As time permits, I enjoy writing on subjects related to radio, advertising, marketing and sales on my blog (http://rodspots.wordpress.com), and as a contributor to various radio trade publications. In May 2009, collaborated with daughter Rebecca to create an online networking site for radio advertising professionals around the world, RadioSalesCafe.com. Small Market Radio Newsletter Publisher Jay Mitchell has called Radio Sales Café "the preeminent resource for radio advertising sales." Specialties I've long been considered an "idea guy," with an unusual knack for identifying opportunities for my clients to grow their businesses, uncovering their unique stories and helping them tell them effectively and relentlessly, engaging and inspiring their customers and helping them to dominate their business category in their local marketplace. Other interests include music (especially classical, big band, and jazz), photography, food-as-more-than-fuel, and discovering new places.
