Oyeleye Christianah Oyebusola is a specialist cardiac nurse who has spent the last 10 years of her career working as a clinician to reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases, pursuing cardiovascular care excellence and healthcare leadership both locally and internationally. She is a member of NMCN, the Royal College of Nursing, British Cardiac Society, British Association for Nursing in Cardiovascular Care, Congenital Cardiac Nurses Association, Sub-Saharan African Congenital Anomalies Network, Arts-in-Medicine alumni, The Global Health Network Africa, Global Nursing Network Rare Diseases, among others. She currently works at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, an arm of the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Foundation Trust.
Christy, as she is fondly called, is a passionate humanitarian, patient advocate, and a congenital heart disease advocate who leads advocacy and drive policy change around child health, particularly congenital disease care in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has participated in various global events around healthcare leadership, cardiovascular care, and congenital anomalies, including the UN and World Health Assembly events. She continues to seek and forge global alliance to solve NCDs, especially cardiovascular diseases, and the SDG3 issues.
She holds a diploma in Nursing from the prestigious Ogun State College of Nursing Abeokuta, formerly SONAB, a post graduate cardiothoracic nursing certificate from the University of Nigeria, and a degree from the University of Derby, UK. She is an MSc candidate, Health Policy, Planning, and Financing at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine while she also navigates advanced cardiology pathways in the UK as well.
Christianah is a philanthropist and the founder of The Congenital Heart Disease Foundation of Nigeria, CHDFNigeria - a charity she started to curb the high mortality associated with Congenital Heart Diseases in Nigeria.
