Ruben Delgado’s commitment, versatility, free spirit and creative soul has aided him to success, continuing to make his career a fulfilling one.

A New York native, born in Brooklyn raised on Long Island, Ruben’s interest for dance started at a young age from the commercial street scene. Growing up an athlete in Soccer and artist in charcoal sketch, he received his formal training by the age of 14 at The New York Dancers Studio under the direction of Stacie Nelson. There he studied extensively in ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, composition, Latin and ballroom. After graduating The Long Island High School for the Arts with honors, he went on to attended Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. as a Dance major on a full academic and Performing Arts scholarship. While there he was selected to be on their competitive dance team, Manhattanville Dance Troupe.

Sharing equal investment in the concert dance world as he does in the commercial dance scene, his completion of numerous programs while on scholarship has lead him to working closely with artist like Sidra Bell, Brain Brooks and Shannon Gillen to further his development into how to turn his versatility in both fields into an adaptive asset within in his dance and personal career.

Ruben is also a proud former dancer with The UnOfficial Dancers for the NY Giants. His tenacity as a performer has allowed him to take the stage with artist by the likes of international pop-star Yo Yo! Honey Singh and electro-pop duo Timeflies; also at venues such as Walt Disney World Resorts, Rye Playland, Yankee Stadium with Total Entertainment Productions, Lincoln Center with Buglisi Dance Theater and Ailey Citigroup Theater with Arrhythmia Dance Company. Some of his other performance credits include Brice Mousset, Gigi Torres, Jerome Robbins, Randy James and Peter Pucci.

Ruben is currently living in Manhattan, N.Y. finishing up his B.F.A in Dance, Choreographic track, with a double minor in Psychology and Philosophy at Marymount Manhattan College. He plans to attend the University of California Riverside to receive his M.F.A in Experimental Choreography upon graduation. He is blessed for the chances and people he continues to meet along his way.

“...A while ago I made a promise to myself to take my work everywhere both physically and intellectually. Finding a way to make dance more vital in culture is my way to do so...”
