Rudy England is the Legislative Director and General Counsel for Texas State Senator Nathan Johnson.

A former partner in a premier international law firm, Rudy has served as Director and General Counsel for five committees in the Texas Legislature: The Senate Select Committee on Open Government and the House Committees on Public Health, Investments and Financial Services, Urban Affairs, and Special Purpose Districts. He also worked as Chief of Staff for a State Representative and as Communications Coordinator for the Community Development and Revitalization Division of the Texas General Land Office.

Rudy is an attorney and ordained minister. He graduated the University of Houston Law Center where he was Associate Editor of the Houston Law Review. Rudy also graduated Unity Institute & Seminary in Unity Village, Missouri. He is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Houston-Downtown and Western Texas College in Snyder.

Rudy chaired the State Bar of Texas Public Affairs Committee for six years and served as president of the Capitol of Texas Rotary Club. He has been listed in Who’s Who in American Law, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World.

A fifth-generation Texan, Rudy's fourth great grandfather served as a captain in the Texas Revolution under Sam Houston at the decisive Battle of San Jacinto, was a Texas Ranger, and is buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
