Sairam Santharam

An experienced information technology executive, Sairam Santharam has worked in the high-tech, automotive, and financial services industries. He has spearheaded business integration initiatives, orchestrated product releases, and designed applications. Sairam Santharam has also motivated and led geographically diverse teams in many parts of the world, most recently as Senior Manager with the multinational banking firm HSBC in its Hong Kong office. Sairam Santharam graduated with honors from Bangalore University in India and spent the initial stage of his career as a Project Manager with Toyota/Bahwan Automotive in Oman. There, he made significant improvements to the systems responsible for payment, order planning, automotive services, and custom claims. Sairam Santharam left to accept a consultant position with Winstar Telecommunications in Virginia, where he enhanced its Internet-based booking and payment platform. Next, he relocated to Colorado to serve as Principal Consultant with Datanomix/First Data Corp. For the next year, he managed configuration management that proved instrumental in rolling out the firm’s electronic federal tax payment system. Before accepting his present post, Sairam Santharam acted as HSBC’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology and Services Officer in Bangladesh. While there, he played a key role in initiating twenty one key initiatives , saving the business nearly $2 million. He worked with the stakeholders in business units to contribute towards a $100 million in profits as COO. HSBC has honored Sairam Santharam on numerous occasions, most recently with the 2010 Platinum Award. That year, he also was inducted into the HSBC Technology Hall of Fame.
