Samantha Howard

Samantha Jeffery-Howard made her film directorial debut with her thesis film Date at a funeral a narrative short film about a young girl’s first date at an unusual setting. The film was written and directed by Samantha and filmed on location in the San Francisco bay area.

An accomplished vocalist, She has worked professionally throughout the bay area. After years of dreaming about finishing school she went back to complete a Bachelors degree at Sacramento State University, in multimedia. After fulfilling that dream she decided to aim higher and go after what she wanted most; to become a filmmaker.

She graduated from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco with an MFA in Motion Pictures and Television; her focus was Directing and Screenwriting. Her Film Date at a Funeral received an official selection from The Chicago International Children's Film Festival, and The San Francisco Black Film Festival.
