Sarah Kolos

Sarah Nicole Kolos graduated with her Bachelor of Music in orchestral performance (magna cum laude) from Duquesne University in 2009, and she's currently finishing her Master of Music in performance, also at Duquesne.

Principal teachers include Scott Bell and James Gorton (retired), both of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra; and Gregory Shook, formerly of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington D.C. She also was selected to perform in Materclasses for three legends of the oboe world: Kathryn Greenbank, Laila Storch, and the late Louis Rosenblatt. A lover of chamber music, she was the founding oboist of the Triano Woodwind Quintet, Duquesne University's Graduate Quintet in residence, and she is also a member of the Quinta Voce woodwind Quintet based in East Pittsburgh.

In addition to her freelance and solo engagements, she also is the 2nd oboist with the Butler County Symphony Orchestra.

Sarah is a member of both the International Double Reed Society and Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society.
