An award-winning violinist with extensive experience performing solo and in an orchestral setting, Sarah Hadley Yakir recently earned the Ravel Foundation's Quartet Prize at the Ecoles d'Art Americaines de Fontainebleau Festival and has also performed at prestigious summer festivals such as the Mozarteum Festival in Salzburg, Austria; the International Violin Festival in Bavaria, Germany; and the IMCC Pro Bono Music Festival in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. Additionally, Sarah Hadley Yakir has performed with the Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra, the Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra, and the New England Conservatory Philharmonic Orchestra.

Earlier in her career, Sarah Yakir earned numerous age category awards at various competitions, including the Canadian Music Competition, the Sound Symphony Concerto Competition, and the National Music Teachers Association Junior String Competition.

Ms. Yakir was also a featured soloist on the HBO special Through a Child's Eyes - September 11, 2001, and, around the same time, was asked to lead a music-oriented math course for gifted students at the New York City Middle School for the Performing Arts. Her own training includes working alongside world-renowned violinists and studying at the Special Music School, The Manhattan School of Music, the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, the Fiorello H. Laguardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts School of Music, the Eastman School of Music . She holds a bachelor of fine arts in violin from the New England Conservatory where she is enlrolled in a Masters program.
