long-haul truck driver in Essex, Maryland

I was born and raised in Essex, Maryland, in a working-class family where hard work and responsibility were part of daily life. My father worked at Bethlehem Steel until its closure, and my mother was a nurse at Franklin Square Hospital. Growing up, I spent weekends with my uncle, a mechanic, learning how to take engines apart and put them back together. That’s where my love for machinery started and where I discovered the value of problem-solving with my hands.

By the time I was 21, I earned my Commercial Driver’s License, and I’ve been a truck driver ever since. Over the last 20-plus years, I’ve driven more than two million accident-free miles up and down the East Coast. I’ve hauled everything from groceries and consumer goods to medical supplies and construction materials. What I’ve learned is that trucking isn’t just about freight—it’s about connecting communities. Every delivery matters because someone is counting on it.

I take pride in mentoring younger drivers and helping them understand that safety, respect, and reliability are the keys to a long career. Outside of work, I’m active in my community, volunteering for food drives and hauling wreaths for Wreaths Across America. At home in Essex, I enjoy boating on the Chesapeake Bay, restoring classic trucks, fishing, and cheering on the Baltimore Ravens. Most of all, I value time with my wife, Linda, and our two kids, Jacob and Hannah. For me, trucking is more than a job—it’s a way of life.
