Scott Haworth

A participant on both the Trial Tactics and Product Liability Committees of the International Association of Defense Counsel, Scott Haworth currently serves as Managing Partner at Haworth Coleman & Gerstman, LLC. In this role, he handles high-profile cases for the firm involving product liability, construction accidents, bad faith suits, catastrophes, property damage, and more. Scott Haworth holds admission to practice before the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York; the U.S. District Court of New Jersey; the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York; and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, among others.

Over the course of his career, Scott Haworth has achieved considerable renown for his work as a litigator. Named Attorney of the Year in both 2004 and 2006 by a major manufacturer of medical devices, he also chairs a group in the Defense Research Institute devoted to recreational product litigation. In addition, he has advanced his field by contributing several studies to industry publications. For instance, he published “Tort Law Update” in three consecutive years for the Syracuse Law Review; further, Sedgwick’s Product Liability Advisory accepted his report titled “Appellate Division Rejects Restaurant Worker’s Failure to Warn and Design Defect Claims Against the Manufacturer of a Drain Opener.”

After earning a BA and graduating with honors from the State University of New York at Binghamton, Scott Haworth enrolled at New York University, where he obtained his JD from its School of Law in 1993. In addition to his role with the International Association of Defense Counsel, he maintains membership with the Continuing Legal Education Committee on Product Liability, part of New York State Bar Association. Scott Haworth also affiliates himself with the organization’s Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law Section, holding a seat on its Product Liability Committee.
