Looking back on more than 25 years of "working" in and on businesses, I've learned what works and what doesn't by doing things vs. sitting on the sidelines.

I find that action trumps theory every time. It's better to so something and fail than it is to wonder what could have been. The more mistakes we make, the more successful we can become. Because without failure there is no success.

If we don't learn from our mistakes we can't grow. Learning something, good or bad, is a gift.

So basically what I do for my businesses and those I work on can be boiled down to the following concepts I've borrowed from the best:
- Your business should serve your life not vice versa (Thank you Michael Gerber)
- There are only 3 ways to grow any business (Thank you Jay Abraham): increase the number of customers, average sale or repeat purchases
- Always focus on your unique ability and the idea that it's better to improve your strengths, not fix your weaknesses (Thank you Dan Sullivan!)
- There are only three questions that count (Thank you Ken Fisher): What do I believe that’s wrong? What can I fathom that others can’t? What is my brain doing to mislead me?

Of course all of this is meaningless without a "beyond business reason why", and in my case it's my beautiful wife, three kids, friends and family.
