Sergey Smirnov is an active member of the Seattle community. Originally from Sarov, Russia, his family moved to the Seattle area when he was eleven-years-old. Since then, he has spent his life in service and is currently most involved with visual and performing arts, social ventures, and education. He is known as a strong advocate for philanthropy within the emerging generation.

He works to further corporate partnerships at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He has served as a Partner with Social Venture Partners Seattle, Vice President at Large on the Board of Directors for Seattle Works, Treasurer for the North Beacon Hill Council, and as an Advisor for the Seattle Art Museum. He has been nominated for Seattle City Club People's Choice award and received the Volunteer of the Year awards from Seattle Art Museum, Bellevue College and the City of Redmond.
