Walter has been married more than 47 years to his first wife, Joy. They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.

Walter and Joy have lived in Canada, Ecuador and USA. Walter was President of a Christian Book Distribution company for 15 years in Canada before moving to Ecuador involved there also with Christian Book Distribution.
