Shawn Tennenbaum

An experienced educator and administrator with experience in the field of special education at several high schools in the San Jose, California, area, Shawn Tennenbaum spent four years as a program specialist in special education at San Benito High School. In this role, he worked closely with feeder schools to create detailed student projections and provided quality training to new case managers at the school district. In addition to processing all completed IEPs, Shawn Tennenbaum coordinated his efforts with the district psychologist and contributed to the hiring of all special education teachers. He also maintained relationships with several county agencies and participated in leadership meetings, including the Principal’s Council and the Special Education Council. Mr. Tennenbaum also served as summer school principal at San Benito High School in 2008.
Shawn Tennenbaum holds a master of arts in education from the Urban High School Leadership Program at San Jose State University, where he completed an action research project on factors affecting attrition and retention rates among teachers. A longtime member of the Association of California School Administrators, Shawn Tennenbaum currently participates in the organization’s Personnel Academy and Negotiator’s Symposium.
