Shawn Bishop

Shawn Bishop is a Michigan-based education professional who has extensive experience in overseeing teachers, students, and school services. He has garnered funding for school districts, and improved curricula. For the last two and half years, Shawn Bishop served as the superintendent of the Bangor Township School District in Bay City, Michigan. Bangor Township employs over 300 educators who teach 2,500 students.
During his tenure as superintendent, Shawn Bishop implemented a number of improvements to the Bangor Township school systems. He supported student achievement by helping to increase Michigan Merit Examination (MME) test scores to their highest levels yet. Bishop was also responsible for restructuring school board meetings, successfully negotiating labor agreements, and streamlining the District Strategic Plan throughout the six Bangor Township schools.
Passionate about curriculum and instruction, Bishop has pursued studies in student discipline that have enabled him to see students as whole people who are worthy of respect and trust. In addition, his community and peers have recognized him as a leader in improving student achievement. He has focused on building cooperative teams and communicating openly with teachers, parents, and students.
