Sheila Newbery
Photographer foremost and Creative Artist secondary My love for the arts began as a young child unable to see the beauty the world had to offer, for no one knew my eyes were seriously disabling. At the age of 10 the Lions Club swept me off my feet by providing me with my first pair of glasses. They were a light shade of grey in the cat eye style, in which I still own today. The very first experience with my new ability to sight, was such an emotional experience. As soon as I stepped outside from up top that hill where the Lions Club Visioncare Center, many tears of joy streamed down my face for the world had changed from this severely dull blurry blight to now a very crisp shiny bright absolutely beautiful place to explore. Capturing the sights throughout my life has been my Passion ever since. I worked very hard at the age of 13 to obtain my very first camera... since then the camera has been my best friend.
