David C. Falcaro

David Falcaro graduated from Saucon Valley High School in 1996. He finished several years at Penn State University before pursuing his dream to open his own martial arts school. In 1999, at the age of 22, he opened his first dojo in Northampton, Pa. In 2003, David opened a second Martial arts school for private instruction in Bethlehem. He has been in the martial arts since the age of 7, learning many styles, in 1990 at age 13 he started focusing, since 1990, mainly on Koryu based Japanese warrior arts.

Remembering what it was like to be a youth in Hellertown, David has had a strong desire to open a school in town to provide the next generation with the same martial training and knowledge that he appreciated so greatly in his life. In 2008, he opened a third school in Hellertown.

When David is not teaching or training, he is involved in Free Masonry he holds the position of a Knight of the Templar. He has authored a very extensive textbook to training entitled Sogobujutsu Psychology, Philosophy, Tradition. He also tours high schools and colleges lecturing on history, philosophy and methodology of the Samurai and Ninja as well as the warrior arts.

David stays busy with his wife, son and daughter. He is passionate about all he commits himself to.

David holds many ranks and titles in the Martial arts. In 2002 he cofounded the Jihi Bujutsu Kai, “though benevolent warrior arts Association”. Which is a group consisting of selected members from across the world. He is known as Kaicho or organization head and has run a large annual gathering known as the J.B.K. Taikai every year since 2003. The event attracts the most prestigious martial artists from across the United States and other countries. David received the scrolls of his tradition in 2005, making him one of three Americans to have ever been a Sodenke of a Japanese-derived Warrior tradition. On July 25th 2005, David was officially adopted into the Japanese Bugei Family of Tanemura, and given the Family name Yoshio Tanemura. Yoshio means the righteous one. He cofounded the online variety martial arts show “interview with sensei” in 2011 with his long time student and friend Brian Shelton. In 2012 he became a published author. Later that year he was promoted to the position of Soke (inheritor of the warrior traditions/head of system, family) at the age of 35. He is the head instructor of the Godaishin Dojo.
