Stephen Kubiatowski
Federal trial and appellate attorney Stephen Kubiatowski serves as a white-collar crime coordinator with the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., on extended assignment from his regular position as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the for the Northern District of Illinois. As part of this assignment, he advises U.S. attorneys on investigating and prosecuting white-collar criminals nationwide. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney based in Chicago, Stephen Kubiatowski investigates and prosecutes various white-collar crimes, including financial and healthcare fraud, and he prosecutes violent and narcotic crimes. Employed by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois since 2001, he will return to this position when his current assignment in Washington, D.C. is complete. Stephen Kubiatowski earned a juris doctor from Columbia Law School before beginning his career. Early in his career, he served as an associate attorney with the global law firm Mayer Brown in Chicago. Mr. Kubiatowski joined the Department of Justice in 1995 as an Associate Counsel with the Office of Independent Counsel in Washington, D.C. In this role, he served on the investigation team for the Whitewater probe. He went on to work as an assistant U.S. attorney with Illinois’ Central District before accepting his current position with the state’s Northern District.
