A businessman with more than 25 years of senior management experience, Steve Carlson honed his leadership skills while serving as the President of Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) of Flagstaff, Arizona. During his 9 year tenure as President of FMC he achieved several milestones, including the implementation of a $150 million master site plan and the expansion of acute care capacity from 150 to 246 beds. Presently, Steve Carlson works as a consultant to health care clients through his private office in Missoula, Montana.
A health care leader active in his broader community, Mr. Carlson served as a board member for several nonprofit groups, including the Missoula Economic Partnership, the Missoula Chamber of Commerce, Missoula United Way and the Montana Independent Health Alliance. Carlson and his wife Anne also served as co-chairs for United Way's Annual Campaign.
Before establishing himself in his professional life, Mr. Carlson achieved his master of hospital administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also holds a bachelor of science from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota.
