Steve Pearse
Born and bred in Gods own county of Yorkshire in England, I have worked in shipbuilding, as a fireman and police officer before writing my first novel.
As the eldest of four children I was raised near to the city of York in the town of Selby where I attended Grammar school before taking an apprenticeship as a draughtsman in a local shipyard. I enjoyed my time in that industry but supplemented my salary by working as a retained fireman at the same time. It was during that time that I attended the now infamous fire that destroyed the south transept of York. Minster and like to think that I played my part in preventing it's total destruction.
A career in policing followed when I spent over twenty years happily working on the East Coast of Yorkshire. During this time I experienced many different facets of policing and mixed with diverse communities including the very unique Goths.
Using my experiences as reference, I wrote Finding Jane, a crime fiction work with a Goth theme set in the beautiful town of Whitby and now have a follow up as a work in progress under the working title Latent Justice.
