Steven Hyland is an active member of Long Island’s athletic community with a strong background in football and wrestling. A graduate of Islip High School in Suffolk County, Steven continued his academic and athletic journey through football programs at Michigan State University and Cornell University.
His experience as a student-athlete built a foundation of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Competing at the collegiate level, including in the Ivy League, strengthened his ability to balance rigorous academics with the demands of high-performance athletics.
Through football and wrestling, Steven learned the importance of preparation, consistency, and respect for every role on a team—values that continue to shape his approach to leadership and community involvement.
Today, Steven focuses his efforts on supporting youth athletic programs across Suffolk County, mentoring young athletes, and maintaining close connections with fellow alumni. His work emphasizes the power of sports as a platform for education, mentorship, and character development.
By fostering local initiatives and alumni engagement, Steven aims to create environments where young athletes can grow in confidence, develop leadership skills, and experience the lifelong benefits of teamwork and sportsmanship.
