Shane Stodghill

A former member of the United States Marine Corps and college student working towards a bachelor’s degree, Shane Stodghill studies government at the University of Texas at Austin. Before enrolling at his current university, he studied political science at the University of North Texas. While there, Shane Stodghill worked as a recruitment officer for the Omega Delta Sigma National Veterans Fraternity, an organization that helps veterans transition to collegiate life and contribute to their local community. As a compliment to his academic pursuits, Shane Stodghill currently works as a legislative aide for Texas State Representative Chris Turner. He assists Mr. Turner with veterans’ legislation, constituent communications, and administrative tasks. Prior to pursuing his undergraduate education. Shane Stodghill worked with sensitive information at Camp Foster in Okinawa, Japan. There, he served as site security manager for the base’s identification card center, where he coordinated card processing for more than 10,000 employees of the Department of Defense. Recognized for his reliable performance, Shane Stodghill received re-assignment to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) on Parris Island, South Carolina. There, Mr. Stodghill conducted audits of new personnel while maintaining the depot’s computerized Unit Diary. Mr. Stodghill also founded the Parris Island Volunteer Team, a group that motivated marines to assist local community organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, and Toys for Tots.
