Stretch Recipes

Austin

Lauren Foster of Stretch Recipes, is a proud Austin resident & Chicago native, first generation college student and MBA, she is an entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in media, telecommunications, and real estate. Her hobbies include top golf, dancing, hiking, and traveling.

It was recognizing the cyclical budget and nutrition patterns within her own life that led her to found Stretch Recipes, Inc. She created Stret¢h because she wanted to create a tool that actually helps people with tight budgets maximize their dollar and have access to more nutritional recipes. She herself grew up in a low income household without the tools to learn how to budget for groceries or prepare healthy meals.

2014 was an amazing first year for Stretch Recipes. They won the Audience Choice at the Tech Crunch Pitch off in Austin, were selected as finalists for both UnLtd USA and the UT Food Lab, and won the WomensNet grant competition.

In January 2015, Lauren Foster was named one of the Top 15 people to watch in Austin by the Austin Statesman. In 2015, the team will compete for the UT Food Lab Challenge and the Amber Grant. She was most recently recognized in March by Austin Women Magazine as one of Austin's Leading Minority Female Business Owners. On March 16th, she will be one of 10 Social Entrepreneurs pitching at SXSW for IBM's A New Way to Start Up event.

As Stretch Recipes steps into 2015, the company will continue building the application and will also launch the Stretch Recipes Cooking Experience where members can learn how to cook and attend food demonstrations for a one-time annual fee.
