A respected Chicago business owner, Susan Brunstrum has guided Studio Brunstrum in providing contemporary interior design solutions since 2003. Meeting the needs of families since then and now commercial clients, Susan Brunstrum has transitioned the firm from a home-based, one-woman operation into one that spans a team of experienced professionals.
High-profile home renovations completed by Studio Brunstrum include a condo in Chicago’s Gold Coast Historic District. Measures taken to transform the space included updated lighting, darkened hardwood floors, and the creation of new accents, trim, and crown molding spanning ceilings and walls. An overall neutral palette gave the space a relaxed, airy vibe that provided a welcome respite from fast-paced life in the center of the city. Modern Luxury published a piece on the interior, and the project earned a 2016 American Society of Interior Designers Illinois Design Excellence Award.
Susan Brunstrum’s academic background includes an advertising and communications degree completed at the University of Illinois. She also holds an MS in integrated marketing communications and advertising from Northwestern University.
