Taiwo Alegbe is a mentor for the UK’s Black Equity Organisation (BEO) and Techstars in Toronto, Canada. The Techstars accelerator programme has been designed to help entrepreneurs succeed. Lasting for three months, each start-up is given access to a network of investors, corporate partners and alumni, as well as the best mentors: Taiwo is one of over 3,800 active accelerator mentors. As part of the programme, Techstars provides both funding and fundraising opportunities, curated resources, workshops and the chance to interact with a range of peers.
Taiwo is an active member of Founders Pledge, an organisation that seeks to harness the unique skills, networks and resources of entrepreneurs, helping these individuals to direct their charitable giving to where it will make the most difference. Founders Pledge advises on, facilitates and maximises the impact of its members’ giving and envisions a future where the value created by technology delivers benefits to those who need it most.
A finalist of KPMG’s ‘UK Black Entrepreneur of the Year’ award, Tai Alegbe is the co-founder and CEO of the SaaS platform Contingent. Securing over £8 million in investment, Contingent’s mission is to help the companies it works with to procure in a more strategic manner and enhance the management of supply chain risk and compliance. Furthermore, Contingent aims to put sustainability at the heart of addressing various categories of business risk.
Taiwo enjoys travelling and has visited over 50 countries to date. He also likes playing tennis and rugby and both playing and watching football – he supports the team Arsenal and attends premiership games whenever possible.
