If you were to ask Tamara's father who Tamara is he would tell you this story:

During Tamara's senior year of high school, she came home stating she wanted to run for homecoming court. The problem: all of the organizations she was involved in had already chosen a representative. Instead of accepting she could not be in the homecoming court, Tamara decided she would create her own organization and elect herself as the homecoming representative. Tamara is a problem solver and her perseverance and determination is beyond reproach.

Tamara continued this level of problem solving through her undergraduate career at the University of South Carolina. During undergrad, she interned at Unity Health Care in the District of Columbia. While interning, Tamara implemented a book donation program; the donation program is still in use today.

After undergrad, Tamara continued her education at the Charleston School of Law. Throughout her law school education, she was involved with numerous student activities. Not only was she a member but she held officer positions in many different organizations. Tamara was a member of the National Black Law Students Association, the largest student run organization in the world. During her term she held the position of the Southern Region Programming Director, where she planned events for law students across seven states.

Tamara was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2015. She is currently the Senior Associate Attorney at Sheffron Law Firm. Her practice areas include Criminal Defense, Custody, Divorce, DSS, and General Civil Litigation. Tamara sits on numerous boards of directors and currently is the Board Chair of Western Carolina Community Action. In 2020 she was selected to be a member of the Top 40 under 40 by The National Black Lawyers. In her spare time she coaches basketball for Henderson County Youth Basketball League.
