Teresa Nash
New York, NY
A native Californian, I have been singing since childhood and dancing since college, where I earned my degree in Theater/Dance/Music. My path then lead to an extended stay in Tokyo, Japan, where I toured the country, singing and recording with my own Pop/R&B band as well as performing with various Jazz groups.
My journey continued across the globe again, settling in New York, taking on the incredible role of motherhood and taking an extended hiatus from performing. As an ever-evolving being, I began studying acting, and training in mixed martial arts, earning a 1st degree black belt. Since then, I've been performing in musical revues and regional theater. One of my favorite roles was as Anita in West Side Story. I've been enjoying diverse leading roles in Off-Broadway Musicals and Independent Films. I sing Jazz and R&B in NYC area venues, and continue to write lyrics and work on new material.
I also answered another calling in the Healing Arts and became a second degree Reiki Practitioner in 2000 and a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2003. I'm an advocate of holistic health and alternative modalities. I'm able to find balance in my "Triple Arts". The Performing Arts of singing, dancing, and acting are at the core of my being. That's where my true joy and passion lies. I connect with people through creative expression. Martial Arts feeds the fire in my soul. It is a way of life which improves all areas of my life. I love the confidence and level of fitness it gives me, and the camaraderie and discipline are invaluable. The Healing Arts and Massage Therapy allow me to connect with others through the healing energy within us all and I think of myself in this role as a facilitator in their self-healing.
