My name is Terry Samsoniuk, and I have always believed that the way you treat people says more about you than anything else. I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, where I learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and helping others. My career included professional truck driving and working as a Construction Safety Officer, where I spent more than 20 years focused on keeping people safe and solving problems before they became emergencies.
Today, I am retired, but I stay busy. I spend at least five days a week helping care for my parents, who are both in their 90s. As their Personal Directive and Power of Attorney, I help with their medical decisions, finances, shopping, and everyday needs. Spending time with my dad, especially taking him to car shows, is something I truly enjoy.
I also umpired adult baseball and slo-pitch for 25 years, where fairness and respect were always important to me. I'm continuing to work on myself through hypnosis sessions that have helped me become more thoughtful and less reactive. I hope to return to work part-time because I still enjoy contributing, staying active, and helping wherever I can. I believe leadership comes from actions, not titles, and I try to live that every day.
