The Bowmans

With harmonies that seem to come from one astonishing voice, The Bowmans share a rare, near telepathic musical bond. The identical twins have been called the “roller coaster” duo, with songs ranging from poignantly captivating to serendipitously joyful. Their music is concurrently sophisticated and imaginative, blending together the preserved vulnerability and abandoned glee of their Iowa childhood. The Bowmans deeply move and delight their audience world wide with uncanny, evocative, and unforgettable performances. Their style is a blend of Americana, Folk and Classical music.

Beginning in 2005, The Bowmans began a habit of incessant grassroots touring, performing in venues all across the United States. In 2006, encouraged by the selection of their pre-release “Diggin' for Gold” by NPR's All Songs Considered, their touring expanded to Europe. During this time, they completed their first critically acclaimed album, “Far from Home” released in 2007 on Mother West Records in the US and Continental Song City in Europe. Songs from the album were featured in MTV reality shows, Starbucks stores across the nation, a festival documentary film, regional radio throughout the U.S. and Europe, and national radio in the UK, Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland. And, in 2008, The Bowmans were overjoyed to be selected by Paste Magazine to perform on the first Cayamo Journey through Song cruise (Sixthman Entertainment). In 2009, The Bowmans recorded a self-titled, self-released album with grammy winning producer, Malcolm Burn. In 2010, they recorded a live concert in the renowned PowerPlay studios in Switzerland for their third release, also independent.

In recent years, the dynamic duo has toured more lightly as Sarah Bowman relocated to Europe to launch a successful solo project and duo with her husband, Rene “Coal” Burrell. The Bowmans are planning a new release for the end of 2013 and will be hitting the road again.
