The ChromaZones

The members of the ChromaZones are award-winning Triangle-area artists that specialize in two-dimensional abstract art. Each of the artists brings to the group a unique personality, artistic background, and creative perspective, but we all share a common goal of celebrating and promoting the Triangle area's vibrant and visual arts community.

The members originally came together during a charity fundraising effort and promotion of the 2009 Raleigh SPARKcon celebration. We created a 15-piece collaborative work for display throughout the event. As an educational effort, we painted live on Fayetteville Street and discussed painting materials and methods with viewers. Proceeds from the silent auction sale of the individual works produced live and the 15-piece collaborative work were donated to the Visual Arts Exchange and the St. Baldrick Foundation. These collaborative donations are the foundation of our group, and we continue to create and donate them for annual art auctions whose fundraising efforts benefit our local community.

Since the creation of the group, the ChromaZones have exhibited in several locations from local coffee houses and restaurants to private galleries and community supported art centers. We welcome the challenge of creating new work and tayloring exhibits for specific locations, space requirements and themes. We continue to develop new and exciting formats in which to display our collaborative efforts and individual works and to strengthen and increase our presence as an educational resource for other artists in our community.
