Gou, or as she preferred to be called, Kou, is the younger sister of swimmer Matsuoka Rin. Her father died when she was young, and once her grandmother passed away, her mom and her brother and herself inherited her grandmother's house in Iwatobi. She attended Sano Elementary and Jr. High, then transferred to Iwatobi for her high school years. She is the manager of the Iwatobi Swim Club, despite not knowing how to actually swim.

Verse One: In romance terms, Kou had a crush on Kisumi (@SexyAssPresents) ever since she was young. In her middle school years, she briefly forgot about him and dater singer Haruya Ichinose (@AmethystAbyss), but broke off on bad terms. She later regained her crush on Kisumi Shigino, but he had a liking to her brother's friend from Australia, a boy named Mason Walker (@FlaxenAubade).

Kou's the doting aunt to her niece, Aoi Yamazaki (@VagueTranquil), the daughter of her brother (@TsundereShrck) and Sousuke (@AustereVerdant)

Verse Two: Kou is as she is, just the same regular old Kou, but her heart has been captured by the swim team's breaststroke swimmer, Nagisa Hazuki (@SwimWithPenguin)

Verse Three: Like verse two, Kou is just your regular everyday average Kou, but this time, she is in a somewhat love/hate relationship with the old Samezuka swim team captain, Seijuro Mikoshiba (@LoverCaptain)

Verse Four: Kou was in a relationship with the free swimmer, Haruka Nanase (@Free_HaruRP) but then had to urgently move to Canada. She then suffered a head injury due to unknown causes, and now has no memories of Japan and can't speak the Japanese language. The only memories of her home country are her childhood ones and her father's death.
