THE PURPOSE DRIVEN MOTHER

My name is Alisha Askew, and I believe that as a mother, you can not completely give yourself to your loved ones, your friends, or your profession if you are not living a life that is self-fulfilling and purposeful. It wasn’t until I discovered my designed purpose that I was able to maximize my potential, love my career, and achieve happiness.

Having the opportunity to live and travel abroad, at an early age I recognized the various roles that mothers played in society, however, mothers were far from making themselves the priority in their lives and as a result had little ambition to fulfill the purpose that was within them. As a mother, I quickly learned that we often extend ourselves, sometimes far beyond our limit, while living through everyone else’s life but our own.

I have worked with countless mothers like you, to help them discover their gift, their passion and their purpose to achieve the life that they truly desire. I know how it feels to go through life knowing that you have hidden treasures within you but because of the fear and the guilt you try to cope with your emotions just to get by. I have been there and I have compromised myself for many years. Growing up and having very few friends, I learned how to become a “people pleaser”; living my life trying to make everyone happy. As a new mom I struggled with depression as well as anxiety, and because of my state of mind, the weight of my emotions was taking a toll on my health. Everyone who knew me thought that I had it all together, only seeing my strong and positive mask that I wore day-to-day. But deep down, all I could see was my desires fading farther and farther away.

After in-depth soul-searching for my life’s designed purpose, I created The Purpose Driven Mother to help mothers defeat the battle of guilt, depression, and anxiety by achieving the life that they desired through their purpose. Becoming a Life Coach was my start to living a life fulfilling and purposeful life including a truly amazing son, wonderful hubby, great friendships, and a fantastic career.

Outside of my work, I have many interests, including traveling. I love to explore new scenery, whether it is going to another city, state, or country. Traveling also allows me to expand my appreciation for the world around me by discovering new environments, cultures, cuisines, and traditions.
