The Quitter

Okay, maybe not *wasted*, but I think many veteran pre-meds and even medical students who abandon the dream of the great M.D. will agree that there is a strong feeling that these years of preparation have been… well, a waste. Get a Bachelor’s Degree they said… Take the MCAT they said… Apply to many schools they said… Spend another 4 and then 3-5 years before you begin working long hours to pay off towering loans they said…

So what’s this blog about, anyway?

I’m biting the bullet and taking a job I could have worked before college to give up the dream of medicine. This blog tells why. And, for the so many other pre-meds and medical students with similar thoughts, this blog hopes to give them some helpful insight into their own future. So, read on and share you own experiences. This is intended as a lesson in What I wish I knew before ever saying “I’m pre-med”.
